Recognising the importance of General Aviation to the Island’s economy, Alderney Electricity has made a major investment to ensure the stability of future fuel supplies at Alderney Airport.

Although their core business is the supply of power to the Island by way of their power station, they are already the ‘Shell’ agent for the supply of both motor spirit and fuel oil. The addition of aviation fuel to their inventory therefore fits in well with their overall business strategy.

According to Alderney Electricity, when supplies resume, AvGas should still be competitively priced at almost half of that in the UK.

To make your visit even more cost effective, it has to be remembered that in addition to being able to top up your tanks with cheap fuel at Alderney, those pilots arriving from the UK can still claim ‘Drawback’ from the UK Customs & Excise on the fuel that they ‘exported’ from the UK. If that wasn’t enough incentive, if you uplift fuel (or stay overnight), you are entitled to a reduced landing fee.

Add to that the additional bonus of the remarkably low prices of cigarettes and spirits available from the Duty Free shop and it is difficult to see just how you can afford not to visit Alderney.
